Court Services

SWL Security offers a wide variety of court services. This is often an "as and when" service rather than contractual and is often seen as extra cover.

Should there be a requirement for your staff to attend court, we offer a court escort service to protect the member of staff, familiarise them with the process and make it easier to cope with. We have found that members of staff who have attended court and understood the process are often more willing to do so again and tackle future events with much more confidence.

Anti Social Behaviour Orders

Anti Social Behaviour is an increasing problem in today's society. Offences are sometimes minor, yet have a lasting effect on store staff. Incidents are sometimes repeated over a period of several weeks and can lead to staff resigning. These are some of the hidden costs of anti-social behaviour. It is time to deal with the source of the problem and not the effect of it. To deal with this type of criminal activity requires well disciplined officers who understand the problem. It requires a long term professional approach so as to start the process to remove the problem. The most important part of the process is communication. Staff are encouraged to report all incidents to our officers. At this point the officer can get first hand documented primary evidence. This is especially important with CCTV footage. If the offence is a verbal one then the type has to be established. If the attack is one of discrimination such as colour or gender then these incidents can be crimed immediately by documenting the incident and gathering statements. Once this is completed, we simply call the police. Otherwise a history of incidents based on primary evidence is required.

Process Service

Issuing and enforcing exclusion notices on all offenders, no matter age or gender is important as most ringleaders surrounded by much younger and more susceptible youths. We have found that most offenders are very locally based, so to serve them with exclusion notices becomes a point of irritation and this is seen by followers or other gang members. As a side effect, some less hardened followers tend to go quiet or start behaving themselves. If an offender breaches the exclusion order then we will forward a file onto your solicitors for consideration. Liaison with Community Warden groups has proven effective in identifying individuals and often Wardens can advise these persons what action will be brought against them should they continue to misbehave. In tackling this with PCSO's & Wardens, this demonstrates that you the client are acting responsibly. Furthurmore it displays due diligence to your staff.

Injunction Orders

All SWL Security officers understand the importance of legal action and are trained in the documentation of a breach of injunction order or ASBO as it is likely to arise in the execution of their duty. To date, we have successfully placed several repeat offenders, that flagrantly break the law, in prison. This has come from a committal to prison order gained on SWL Security information after breach of injunction order. We have achieved this by assisting in the evidence gathering on behalf of the client funded private civil action. The officers in each role will lawfully and legitimately gather, collate, process and manage, all information relating to crime, its commission and perpetrators. It is every officer's duty to prevent or reduce crime and detain perpetrators and deal with anti-social behaviour in order to create a safe and secure working environment.
